8 countries issued a joint statement regarding Syria

At the meeting, all directions related to the Astana process were discussed, including the importance of activating the agreements reached on de-escalation and ensuring the commitment of all parties to the ceasefire and the fight against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.

The meeting also discussed the development of the basis for the continuation of the political process in order to achieve a sustainable political solution that paves the way for the initiation of a comprehensive dialogue that includes all parties, as well as support for international efforts in that framework.

The meeting emphasized the need to respect Security Council Resolution 2254 as the basic reference for a political solution in Syria, while emphasizing the importance of collective action to overcome challenges that hinder a peaceful solution.

The ministers reiterated their support for peaceful solutions to the Syrian crisis and agreed to continue efforts made within the Astana process to achieve positive results that improve the stability of Syria and realize the aspirations of its people.
