“Dangerous” scenarios are on the table…what comes after controlling Hama?

After Thursday’s attack, Hama became the second city to be advanced by armed factions within days, after Aleppo, to the north, fell completely out of Syrian forces’ control for the first time since the conflict erupted in 2011.

In this context, international relations researcher Muhammad Nader Al-Omari said in an exclusive interview with Sky News Arabia that “the fall of the strategic city of Hama in the hands of armed groups has many dimensions, the most prominent of which is that the city of Hama is located in the middle SyriaSo, if the terrorist organizations continue to advance, it means that there will be northern Homs and an attempt to cut the coastal road and penetrate deep Syrian desert“.

He added: “From a geographical point of view, it is considered… mother-in-law It is a junction between the governorates because it is located in the middle of the international road (M5) and represents a meeting point between east and west, north and south.

He continued: “From a security perspective, these groups’ control of Hama may force them to penetrate into the Syrian desert and thus free ISIS prisoners again.” We are talking here about the return of terrorist organizations and the attraction of more fighters.

Al-Omari said: “From an economic point of view, when an important international road connecting the north and the south is cut off and the roads connecting the coast and the south are threatened, it means that what is happening will be a blow to the Syrian economy.”

He continued: “Politically, the countries that support these organizations are trying to impose a political vision on them Syrian state And pressure it to accept Resolution 2254, with the presence of a number of projects, including the Turkish project to establish a buffer zone, as well as the Israeli project to try to close the Syrian-Lebanese border, as well as what is related to American interests that require the expulsion of Russia from Syria and exclusive administration of the Middle East region”.

He added: “I believe that we are gradually moving towards the transformation of this escalation from an escalation led by armed organizations to countries directly intervening in this conflict.”Russia Iran and the Arab countries will not allow Syria to fall or turn into a hotbed of terrorism.
