Playing Soto, Hernandez sported a question mark on his white T-shirt and also sported a Celsius hat, an ode to the teased announcement the 26-year-old superstar made last month as baseball fans sought his free agent decision.
During their conversation, New York Yankees they were the team that “Soto” hoped would “make me the best offer”.
However, it was the Church Lady’s next comment that ultimately led to the sting of the Mets.

“Well, as a Christian, I have to ask you: why wouldn’t you spend your time and money helping the needy and the less fortunate?” asked the Lady of the Church.
“You’re right,” replied the fake Soto. “I might sign with the Mets.”
As Soto was allegedly receiving offers with $700 million on the table, the church lady told the fake Soto that “money is the root of all evil.”
“Well, if that’s true, then I’m going to become the meanest baseball player in the world,” the fake Soto said, prompting thunderous laughter from the crowd.
From Saturday night, New York Post reports that both the Yankees and Mets have increased their offers to Soto to a “range of $710-730 million,” which would be above what the Los Angeles Dodgers gave Shohei Ohtani last offseason.
Ohtani’s record deal was worth $700 million with $680 million deferred, changing the entire landscape of how MLB stars could be signed in the future.
But it’s not just the Yankees and Mets who are interested in Soto for next season and beyond.
