The Canadian government said it was working with its Ukrainian counterpart to find a way to donate them Weapons To support combat efforts against Russian forces at war with Ukraine From 2022
This decision comes after a ban on 1,500 types of weapons was introduced in May 2020, the number of which increased to more than two thousand types by November of this year with the identification of new models.
LeBlanc announced the latest restrictions Thursday, citing concerns among gun control advocates that many assault-style weapons were not included on the 2020 ban list.
“That means these weapons can no longer be used,” LeBlanc said.
For his part, Defense Secretary Bill Blair stated that: Canada I contacted the Ukrainian authorities, who expressed an interest in some of these weapons, adding that “any help we give the Ukrainians is a step towards their victory.”
The federal government explained that it is working with provinces, territories and police forces on a plan to buy banned guns from their legal owners.
