OPEC+ postpones oil production increase for three months until April



The coalition stated in a statement that “the groupOPEC+Which includes OPEC countries and their allies, most notably Russia, “will extend their additional voluntary adjustments of 2.2 million barrels per day, which were announced in November 2023, until the end of March 2025.”

According to the statement, these additional voluntary adjustments in the amount of 2.2 million barrels will be returned to the markets gradually on a monthly basis until the end of September 2026, “to support market stability”. OPEC+ said: “This monthly increase could be paused or reversed depending on market conditions.

The coalition was supposed to begin increasing production by 180,000 barrels per day next January, and according to the decision announced today, those increases will begin in April.

The coalition countries also decided to extend the additional voluntary amendments of 1.65 million barrels per day, which were announced in April 2023, until the end of December 2026, instead of the end of December 2025.
