Tesla has confirmed the high safety scores its electric vehicles (EVs) have received on four different continents, marking the latest social media effort to educate the public about how safe its vehicles are.
On Saturday, Tesla shared graphics for the X that show it different five-star safety ratings from regulators and agencies in the USA, Europe, China and Australia, New Zealand and surrounding island regions.
The aforementioned achievements include The Model Y was recently awarded a Top Safety Pick Plus by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) and a five-star company safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in the US along with five-star reviews from the European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP), the Australasian New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) for safety and top China Automobile Insurance Safety Index (CIASI) ratings.

Tesla regularly emphasizes the safety of its carsand its vice president of automotive engineering, Lars Marawi, recently echoed the company’s sentiment focus on safety, even within the Autopilot and Full Self-Driving (FSD) programs.noting that “safety is and always will be (Tesla’s) top priority.”
In February, the company’s engineering team held a “Security Research Day” for government agencies and non-governmental organizations such as university leaders, all focused on further improving security.
Tesla also publishes a quarterly safety reportpointing out in the third quarter that the company’s vehicles recorded one accident for every 7.08 million miles when using Autopilot, and one accident for every 1.29 million miles without Autopilot. By comparison, the latest NHTSA figures report a car accident every 670,000 miles in the U.S.
