Tesla is actively testing its novelty Cyber taxi (her special robot taxi), again at his Giga Texas facilityaccording to drone footage shared by Joe Tegtmeier.
The Cybercab was recently unveiled at Tesla’s “We, Robot” event, and its real-world testing marks a significant step in the company’s autonomous vehicle development.
Tegtmeier noticed The Cybercab is closely followed by a black Model 3 and a white Model Y, both equipped with specialized sensor arrays, including LIDAR on the Model Y. He noted that these vehicles are used for testing and calibration Tesla Software for Full Self-Driving (FSD). next to Cybercab.
“There’s a pursuit of a black Model 3 driving around the north and east of the plant today, continuing to test drive!” – said Tegtmeier. He confirmed that there was a person inside the Cybercab, who was probably operating a modified game controller as a safety measure. The Cybercab windows were heavily tinted so you couldn’t see inside.
When asked about the Cybercab’s design, Tegtmeier described it as “definitely smaller than the Model 3,” and from behind the Model 3 gives a sense of its compact scale. He also revealed that there were several Cybercab prototypes on site, but was unsure if Tesla’s Robovan was present.
Additional footage showed a black Model 3 equipped with a camera system that mimics the Cybercab’s sensors. “It’s calibrating the data as it drives,” Tegtmeier explained, emphasizing the detailed testing process.
Super cool to see the Cybercab being tested at Giga Texas. It looks like the Cybercab is parked inside Giga Texas, not outside.
