These JDM sports cars were nearly crushed by a light support that fell off at the auto show

One Nissan R35 GT-R owner is thanking a higher power they believe in because it seems only divine intervention could have saved their car. Last weekend, the lighting farm accidentally fell on the street DBTK (Don’t Blame the Kids) Car Showroom. in the Philippines, nearly crushing several classic JDM and Gulf livery cars R35 GT-R. The latter, however, was nearest to her end, as the farm either gave her the lightest of brushes, or landed a human hair’s breadth away from her.

The video doesn’t show the truss falling, so it’s unclear if someone tampered with it or if it was simply installed incorrectly. But it seems one of the stands tipped over before it all came crashing down between the R35 and the classic AE86 Toyota Sprinter Trueno. While it clearly cleared the Toyota, we can’t tell just from watching the video if it hit the Nissan’s bumper or had a near miss. Either way, things could have gone a lot worse. If there was even a slight breeze in the GT-R’s direction, the truss would have crushed the front of the car and probably wrecked it. It looks like you can’t even slide a credit card between them.

Also, why did people just stand there calmly watching the aftermath? They just witnessed an automotive miracle as the car gods decided not to take this owner’s GT-R from the world that day. It’s even luckier that no poor car nerd was admiring these rides close-up when it happened, or they could have been killed. While most lightning trusses are made of tubular aluminum and are relatively light for their size, they are still heavy enough to cause damage, especially with lighting equipment about 15 feet long attached.

Fortunately, no one was hurt in this freak incident, and neither was the car. And hopefully whoever installs these DBTK car show trusses will do a better job next time – otherwise writing the next story won’t be as easy.
