Opposition factions said al-Julani arrived in Damascus on Sunday, hours after announcing his entry into the capital and the fall of Bashar al-Assad.

Earlier on Sunday, Al-Julani urged his fighters not to approach public institutions, stressing that they would remain under the former prime minister’s watch until they were “officially handed over”, after the opposition announced the ouster of President Bashar al-Assad.
